More Michigan Highlights

I still can’t believe my Michigan trip and wedding reception is already over, but time always seems to fly faster when we’re having fun, right? Jesse and I got back to Portland a few nights ago and are getting back into the groove of things. I need to get my butt moving on developing some new recipes, as I didn’t do any of that when I was home. Truthfully, it was nice to have a break! Anyway, I’ll be back up and running with some recipes soon.

Meanwhile, here are some more pictures from our trip back home (there’s more than this too and some I haven’t even seen yet!). We were even fortunate to have a couple days on the lake, which we didn’t expect to happen this time of year. The weather starts to cool down in Michigan in September, but we got lucky.

Cheers!

Evening time on Long Lake in Alpena. We had a beautiful 95 degree day on the water and spent a lot of time on the pontoon this day.

My sister, the grape cluster. There was an event going on at the Thunder Bay Winery, where my sis has been working all summer and she was the chosen one to be the grapes. Isn't she the cutest? This was a few hours before our flight back to PDX on our last day.

Isn’t she the cutest? Those are all individually filled balloons! This was a few hours before our flight back to PDX on our last day. My Aunt Penny was with us too and we all shared a glass of wine together.

Some beautiful tart apples we picked out in the country at the Boboltz family camp/cottage. The apple trees out there were planted by one of my relatives and are over 100 years old. We made some baked apples with them and they were delicious!

My silly brother in-law, Nick, on the boat at Elk Lake. He is also the same dude that was in the washtub in his undies at our reception. There's never a dull moment when he's around.
