Weekend Photo Recap

I had a lovely weekend — the weather was warm and sunny and I did a lot of enjoyable things. Here are some highlights:

Reverand Nat's Hard Cider, a local cider company, just opened a tasting room/bar a few blocks away from our house. We walked there Saturday before dinner and shared this sampler platter. All of their ciders are dry, which is right up my alley. I liked most of these with the exception of the second from the left. It was an heirloom cider that tasted smokey and odd. I ended up ordering a glass of the Newton Pippin, the last glass on the right. The seasonal hybiscus (red one) was really nice too.

We walked there Saturday before dinner and shared this sampler platter. All of their ciders are dry, which is right up my alley. I liked most of these with the exception of the second from the left. It was an heirloom cider that tasted smokey and a little too odd for my palate. I ended up ordering a glass of the Newtown Pippin, the last glass on the right. It was crisp, light and refreshing, especially on a hot day. The seasonal hibiscus (red one) was really nice too.
My glass of the Newtown Pippin. Jesse drank two ciders in the time it took me to finish this. I really liked it, but when I drink, I get chatty and full of ideas/inspiration.

Went to the farmer's market and bought fresh eggs from this man. (Taken on iPhone).

Pretty flowers at the farmer's market. They're very tempting to buy, but one of our cats loves to eat them. We end up having to hide the flowers, so it's kinda pointless. (Taken on iPhone).

Washing my car (grandma's car) the real way.

Can you tell I used to be a dancer?

All shiny and fresh. Grandma would be so happy.

Thanks for the tip on the cider – I’ve actually never had hard cider but I see they have a stall at Beaverton Farmer’s Market so perhaps this weekend I’ll give it a taste!

Yep, hard cider is a nice treat! I stick to more of the local or artisan ones and make sure there’s not sugar added.

I love cider! I had some amazing cider when I was away in France, the Europeans are big on their cider 🙂 Also that’s how I was my car or well used to when I had one. Actually Joe washes his like that too, we always did it like that back in Australia as well due to the water restrictions we had in our state.

Btw you totally look you’re in the middle of a dance pose there lol

Haha, I know, that’s why I mentioned my former dance days in the caption. I danced from ages 6-18!

Woohoo! Great job cleaning up the ride. Am I next in line? Just kidding. Actually, now that I’m back in Colorado, I had to invest in some transportation. I bought a car last week and just picked it up today. They washed it for me. Clean cars are great! 🙂

Haha, I’d totally wash your car for you! I thought it was really fun, actually and it was free! That was a fast car purchase — must have known what you wanted!

It’s so fun! I tried to get my hubby to join me and had visions of spraying him with the hose, but I think he sensed it. He said no 😦
